What are CRISP Scored Mangroves (CRISP-M)?
Everyone wants to see quality climate action - but the way this is financed is challenging.
Carbon project developers, such as organizations that restore degraded mangroves, run into a major roadblock - the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) gives them carbon credits retroactively, but the up-front costs are significant and have to come from somewhere.
Generally, this is solved via forward financing, but this industry is inaccessible and opaque, lowering the amount of willing participants and limits access to capital.
The result is that quality climate action is slowed down, limiting the impact these projects have in the fight against climate change.
CRISP-M is Solid World's token for allowing mangrove restoration project developers to forward-sell their upcoming carbon credits at a discount. The further away the credits are from delivery, the larger the discount.
One CRISP-M reflects the value of one ton of mangrove restoration-based carbon credits at maturity, as this is the point where the discount reaches 0% and can be exchanged 1:1 for the underlying supply (plus fees).
As the forward credits exchanged for CRISP-M move closer to maturity, this discount is vested to the token's liquidity providers, creating a sustainable source of liquidity incentives while never diluting existing token holders of the token's value.
All projects are subject to Solid World's CRISP (Carbon Risk Identification and Scoring Principles) Framework to limit risks of underdelivery, have replacement guarantees from suppliers and are approved by the pool's Curation Council, a set of major liquidity providers for the CRISP-M token.
Together with the rest of Solid World's mechanisms - the system functions as a decentralized warehouse for climate finance, connecting buyers and sellers across time, as the supply gets certified and arbitraged out of the system.

How many CRISP-M tokens are in circulation?
CRISP-M token's supply expands and contracts based on the maturity and number of forward credits in CRISP-M's treasury.
Currently, there are around 17 000 CRISP-M in circulation.

Who are the founders of Solid World?
The inception of Solid World is credited to Stenver Jerkku and Al William "Rez" Tammsaar.
Stenver Jerkku is a serial entrepreneur with a software engineering and economics background.
He was an early tech lead at Glia (a NY-based unicorn) and co-founded eAgronom, a major sustainability company in Europe that turns farmers into regenerative farmers.
He also served as the VP of the Estonian Founder's Society 2 years in a row, an association that includes the founders of all Estonian unicorn startup founders.
Al William "Rez" Tammsaar is a well-known thought leader in the space of Regenerative Finance (ReFi).
He has a background in data science & product management and has extensively consulted corporates on applied data science for problem-solving.
He also served as the AI lead at eAgronom, where he worked together with Stenver to expand eAgronom's product offerings.
He is the co-host of the podcast "This Week in ReFi," contributed to multiple ReFi initiatives, and has been quoted in TIME on this topic.
Where can I buy CRISP Scored Mangroves (CRISP-M)?
Currently, CRISP-M is available on Uniswap V3 on the Polygon blockchain. Over time Solid World intends to increase access by listing on centralized exchanges as well.
