What is HairDAO?
HairDAO is DeSCI’s leading decentralized autonomous organization dedicated to replacing the NIH. Hair loss is our first field of target, although our patents already cover skin diseases. We’ve filed DeSci’s first 6 patents, run its 1st decentralized trial, launched its first tissue bank and on-chain lab, and are about to launch its first telehealth.
How is HairDAO secured?
HairDAO employs a multifaceted approach to ensure its security, focusing on both technological measures and community governance. At its core, HairDAO leverages the power of blockchain technology and patent law to secure its operations and assets, via the HAIR ERC20 governance + utility token, working and savings capital held in multi-signature wallets, and off-chain, real-world patents.
The governance of HairDAO is intrinsically linked to its security framework. We are community-owned through the HAIR token, allowing hair loss patients and other stakeholders to actively participate in the decision-making processes. This includes funding decisions and governance matters, ensuring that the direction and priorities of HairDAO are directly influenced by its community.
In our proprietary applications, technological security measures are also a cornerstone of HairDAO's security strategy. Data encryption is employed to protect sensitive information, ensuring that data integrity is maintained and that information is accessible only to authorized individuals. Different types of data receive different safeguards, with Personal Health Information receiving the highest standard.
In summary, HairDAO's security is underpinned by a combination of blockchain technology, patent law, community-driven governance, data encryption, and regular security reviews. This comprehensive approach not only secures the organization's assets and operations but also ensures that the community it serves is actively involved in its governance and direction.
How will HairDAO be used?
At its core, HairDAO is designed to serve as a decentralized platform that not only funds research projects aimed at discovering groundbreaking treatments for hair loss, but also facilitates the governance and distribution of such initiatives.
The HAIR token, integral to HairDAO's ecosystem, functions as a tool for incentivizing participation within our community. This includes rewarding contributions to research efforts and enabling token holders to partake in decision-making processes. The governance aspect is particularly significant, as it empowers the community with the authority to guide the direction of research projects and the allocation of resources.
This model not only facilitates the funding of hair loss research through the acquisition and governance of both liquid and illiquid assets, including ETH and our IP portfolio, but also represents a novel method of managing and protecting intellectual property in scientific research.
HairDAO is at the forefront of integrating blockchain technology with medical research, offering a unique approach to funding, governance, and intellectual property management in the quest to combat hair loss.
What key events have there been for HairDAO?
We filed our first patent in December 2022, and have filed 5 since. Our first patent advanced through DeSci’s first decentralized trial, completed in December 2023, with the treatment group performing better than today’s current status quo. Accordingly, we are launching our own telehealth, to bring our patented, novel treatment to market.
We also launched DeSci’s first in-house tissue bank and lab. Our lab has brought down the cost of our research by about 100x, and has accounted for 4 of our 6 patents. Other key events include the launch of DeSci’s first consumer product, the FolliCool Everday Shampoo, which we’ve sold out and are now expanding production.
