The platform provides a unified settlement and measurement layer through which transactions originating from different categories, such as housing, utilities, mobility, and retail, are processed under consistent rules once they enter the MegPrime environment. Rather than introducing another standalone payments solution, MegPrime organizes real-world transactions in a way that reduces the operational complexity created by fragmented payment architectures.
MP is used for:
- Settling all transactions recognized within the MegPrime environment, as the sole internal unit of account
- Enabling access to features and services within the MegPrime application
- Distributing rule-based participation rewards to users based on verified payment activity
- Connecting user behavior to the platform's deterministic minting and measurement engine through MP-denominated settlement
What Is the MP Token Supply?
MP operates on the Base network with a fixed maximum supply of 120 billion MP, an immutable cap embedded directly into the token's contract architecture. At genesis, 20 billion MP is minted into the treasury to support platform operations, ecosystem programs, and liquidity requirements. Circulating supply at the Token Generation Event is limited to 2,5 million MP, deployed into public liquidity to enable initial functional trading and price discovery.
Additional MP may be minted into the treasury only when verified daily Gross Payment Volume (GPV) exceeds USD 10 million. For every USD 100,000 in incremental GPV above that threshold, 5,000 MP are minted according to a fixed formula that cannot be altered. Minting ceases permanently once the maximum supply of 120 billion MP has been reached, regardless of future platform activity.
What Is GPV?
Gross Payment Volume (GPV) is the aggregate value of verified MP-settled transactions within the MegPrime environment. GPV functions as the platform's primary internal control variable. It governs the deterministic minting of MP into the treasury and provides an auditable basis for determining how the system scales. Only transactions that settle in MP and pass the platform's verification and compliance checks contribute to GPV. GPV is not a commercial metric; it is a rule-based mechanism that links token supply expansion directly to verifiable economic activity on the platform.
How Are MP Rewards Distributed?
Participation rewards are distributed to verified application users based on GPV contribution milestones. The incentive mechanism is designed to reinforce engagement with MP-settled activity while remaining consistent with the token's utility-only character. Rewards are subject to vesting periods before becoming claimable.
How Does MP Settlement Work?
Users may initiate payments through multiple pathways, including direct MP payments, an MP-enabled card through a third-party provider, bill payments settled in MP and converted to fiat for delivery via traditional payment rails, and stablecoin-to-MP conversions prior to settlement. Only transactions that ultimately settle in MP are recognized within the platform's internal accounting and become eligible for GPV inclusion and participation benefits. This design establishes a clear boundary between payment initiation, which may involve multiple funding methods, and payment settlement, which is standardized exclusively in MP.
Regulatory Status
MegPrime has received a no-action letter from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission confirming that the SEC's Division of Corporation Finance will not recommend enforcement action on the basis that the MP utility token constitutes a security under United States federal securities laws. MP does not confer ownership interests, governance rights, revenue share, or other financial rights. Its purpose is strictly operational within the MegPrime ecosystem.

MP is available for trading on Uniswap on the Base network. Additional exchange listings will be announced through official project channels as confirmed.
