**Detailed Project Description (JPYC)**
JPYC is a Japanese Yen-pegged stablecoin issued by JPYC Inc., a Tokyo-based company. JPYC Inc. is registered as a Fund Transfer Service Provider (Kanto Local Finance Bureau Director No. 00099) under Japanese law. Formally launched on October 27, 2025, JPYC operates as a compliant "Electronic Payment Instrument" (Denshi Kessai Shudan) under Japan's Payment Services Act. The asset is designed to maintain a 1:1 value ratio with the Japanese Yen.
The stability of JPYC is maintained through full collateralization. JPYC Inc. secures 100% or more of the outstanding JPYC value with assets held entirely in Japanese Yen, primarily through segregated bank deposits and Japanese government bonds. This reserve structure ensures that each JPYC token is redeemable for 1 JPY, subject to the platform's terms.
JPYC operates on an official issuance and redemption platform known as "JPYC EX." To participate, users must complete identity verification (KYC) as required by Japan's Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds, a process which JPYC Inc. facilitates using Japan's public personal identification system (JPKI).
For issuance, verified users reserve an amount on JPYC EX and transfer the corresponding Japanese Yen via bank deposit. JPYC Inc. then mints and delivers the JPYC to the user's registered wallet address. The redemption process works in reverse: users apply on the JPYC EX platform, send their JPYC to a designated blockchain address, and JPYC Inc. transfers the equivalent Japanese Yen to the user's pre-registered bank account.
JPYC is a multi-chain asset, available on public blockchains including Ethereum, Polygon, and Avalanche, with plans for further expansion.
JPYC is positioned as an open financial infrastructure, allowing developers and businesses to integrate it for various purposes without proprietary merchant contracts. Its utility spans both Web3 and traditional business applications. Key use cases include B2C payments (e.g., e-commerce, retail), B2B settlements, and corporate treasury management. The ecosystem includes integrations with Web3 wallets, SaaS platforms, creator economy payout systems, and accounting tools. JPYC Inc. supports this adoption by providing a Software Development Kit (SDK) to help developers integrate JPYC functionalities within their applications.
