What is YOM?
YOM is pioneering the first cloud gaming infrastructure (DePIN), streaming games, white-label experiences and entirely new entertainment formats at scale.Leveraging a distributed network of gaming machines (nodes), YOM offers global low-latency, near-zero costs cloud gaming to any device and channel. Node operators on the YOM network sell their gaming machine cycles to the network, earning passive revenues, up to 480% APY/license on a deflationary token.
Since the network eliminates the need for gaming hardware to access games (e.g. Xbox, Playstation) and other conversion killers (Steam, app store), YOM massively expands the funnel for studios and game developers alike - enabling them to focus their efforts on building good games, fast.
What Makes YOM Unique?
YOM’s DePIN infrastructure is a significant advantage compared to other cloud gaming solutions because it eliminates the need for expensive data centers and traditional cloud providers, which can reduce cloud gaming development and deployment costs by a factor of 10x-50x.Furthermore, developers can use YOM's SDK/webapp to end-to-end deploy and manage any Unreal Engine-based interactive multiplayer experience. As a result, creators retain ownership and full control over their source-code, object-code, and gateways of their own projects without surrendering massive fees (e.g. 30% to the Apple store).
What’s Next for YOM?
YOM is currently decentralising and scaling its network.I ts goal for 2026 is to be able to scale the network to millions of users at very low costs on a single shard, fully distributed. This is a feat unprecedented in AAA gaming history, allowing for a massive expansion of the gaming market to any device, mobile, laptop, streaming service, that has access to the internet.In the coming quarters, the sales team will be onboarding major games projects in the web2 and web3 space to the network. They will be working with video streaming services to offer interactive experiences through their platform. And YOM will be providing incentives for independent game and content developers to bring their work to the YOM DePIN.
What can $YOM (YOM) be Used For?
To reward node operators and drive growth of the ecosystem, the $YOM token is used. With each transaction, a portion ( $150,- flat fee and 5% of revenue shares) of $YOM is burned, affecting the total supply and rewarding all other stakeholders. This happens while the amount of gaming content increases with more sales and with the expansion into new regions.History of YOM
YOM was founded in 2021 as both a DePIN network and content provider. In 2024, the team focused the business solely on the gaming infrastructure, and left the content creation aspects to their valued business partners. That change in the business model came with the appointment of a new leadership team with experience in sales, web3, gaming, and venture capital.The change in business strategy and the focus on the DePIN caught the attention of Outlier Ventures. With the backing of Borderless Capital, the Outlier Ventures DePIN Base Camp program accepted YOM into their inaugural cohort. This program has enhanced the business and technical model the team put forth, and will be paying dividends in the years to come.
